With support from the Ministry of Health, TBI Health has launched a subsidised rehabilitation programme called Back Pain MAP in the upper South Island.
Patients in the Nelson-Marlborough region who have been experiencing ongoing back pain may be able to get assistance from the programme, which provides all the tools to help manage their pain. With a focus on education, patients work through a series of sessions. A long-term exercise plan is also put in place, to help people stay active and keep on top of any pain in the future.
How long is the back pain programme and how much does it cost?
The programme runs for approximately 6 weeks and the service is provided by a team of health professionals including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists. On completion of the programme, patients are helped to integrate into support services that are currently available within the community.
TBI Health’s Back Pain MAP is subsidised by the Ministry of Health. Depending on the circumstances, our co-payments for the programme will range from $0 – $15 a consultation. We will discuss and confirm co-payments before the programme commences.
