Do you suffer from Osteoarthritis in your hip or knee?
TBI Health understand that living with Osteoarthritis can prevent you from doing the things you love. We are running a subsidised rehabilitation service for people that are developing hip or knee osteoarthritis (OA).
Our programme will give you the tools to help you manage your condition. And you’ll be educated on how you can stay active and get on with doing the activities you love.
What does the Mobility Action (MAP) Programme consist of?
You’ll receive an assessment with one of our Physiotherapists. If you qualify for the programme, you’ll work through a series of educational modules and exercise sessions to help you understand your condition.
The programme is provided by a team of health professionals including:
- Occupational Therapists
- Exercise Physiologists
- Arthritis New Zealand Educators
How long does the programme take to complete?
The programme will run over a 6 – 12 week period. On completion, you will be helped to integrate into support services that are currently available within the community. This includes the Green Prescription and Arthritis New Zealand support.
Who can access the programme?
This programme is available for patients living in the Hutt Valley or MidCentral regions.
How much does it cost?
The programme is subsidised by the Ministry of Health. Depending on your circumstance, our co-payments for the programme will range from $0 – $15 a consultation. We can discuss and confirm co-payments (if any) with you before starting the programme.
How can I get onto this programme?
Please discuss Mobility Action Programme with your Doctor or Health Professional to determine if you can be referred. We will contact you to discuss the MAP in more detail.
